In partnership with the Utah Department of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH), LBHS proudly hosts the annual Utah State Peer Conference each June. The conference is open to Certified Peer Support Specialists, Family Resource Facilitators, and ANYONE who identifies as a “PEER” in Utah. A PEER is someone who has used mental health or substance use services for themselves or a loved one. Often Peers also identify as ‘Advocates’ or people invested in improving the behavioral health system. It offers CEUs for CPSS and FRFs. We provide a wide range of topics that are useful for peers, last year some workshops in the conference included alternative paths to recovery, resilience and post-traumatic growth, human trafficking, community, and family support. The conference is a great tool to network with and meet other peers in the community as well as working in the field.
More information on the in-person 2020 Utah Peer Conference will be posted soon!
