Pedro Hueramo Rico (They/He/She) is a queer nonbinary 1st generation Xicana/Chicano and a proud descendant of poor rural working class mestizos. Pedro is a community organizer, creator, compassionate, and a resilient person who carries their ancestral practices and knowledge which have been passed down to them by their mother. Pedro received a BA in Ed Policy & Advocacy from Westminster College where they focused on restorative justice, trauma informed practices and curanderismo.

I am a Peer Mentor in recovery of substance use and mental health, I assist people in my community by sharing my recovery story and empowering them towards the direction they would like to move in their lives. I am active in creating spaces for people to feel welcomed in the community by fostering relationships and dialogue.
