Patricia Riano, CSW, CPSS

Patricia Riano was born in Colombia and came to the United States with her family to escape the violence in her country. She has over 12 years in mental health recovery. One of her kids developed a mental condition, and she began learning how to educate herself and her family quickly about mental health throughout the process of seeking and obtaining professional help for her child. Patricia became interested in the area of mental health, especially within the immigrant community and has volunteered as an instructor for NAMI Utah and Latino Behavioral Health Services. Patricia was also a crisis counselor at the Utah Department of Health Services with the Utah Strong Project at the time of the pandemic, and a crisis worker with Huntsman Mental Health Institute. Patricia is a therapist at Latino Behavioral Health Services. Patricia is a member of the LBHS board. Patricia earned her MSW degree from the University of Utah, her MBA degree from Universidad del Rosario, and her BS in Computer Science Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
